Five interesting facts about me...
I am 1. I've been writing since I was five years old. I got the idea for my first completed novel when I was in my mid-teens.
2. I won a high school poetry contest at Bluffton College in Ohio for a poem called Children of War.
3. Though I was a cheerleader in high school, I generally wore black and white striped tights with a black fish net dress. Walking down the senior hall, guys shouted: "Beetle Juice, Beetle Juice, Beetle Juice." This made me happy.
4. I love to attend writers conferences, which are great learning experiences by day and giggle-inducing slumber parties by night. I highly recommend trying one.
5. If I could hop into the pages of any series of books, I would choose Harry Potter hands down. I once won an adult costume contest at a Harry Potter Book Release Party for my version of Rita Skeeter. I am now totally wrapped up in Fanstastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. How can I wait two years for the next installment?
More About Me..
I live with my husband and four children in Columbus Ohio. When I'm not plotting my next novel you can find me eating mint chocolate chip ice cream or singing off tune. Sadly, I'm addicted to young adult fiction and dark chocolate and refuse to seek help.
I am a member of Central Ohio Fiction Writers, YARWA, Romance Writers of America and The Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. My young adult romance "The Keeper's Daughter" won first place in the Columbus Fiction Writer's 2011 Ignite the Flame contest. It also placed in the 2011 Cleveland Rocks Romance contest and won second place in the 2012 On The Far Side Contest. It also won third place in the 2013 Unpublished Maggie Awards and in 2017 was a finalist in the Indiana Golden Quill awards. My young adult novel "Painless" won second place in the Columbus Fiction Writer's 2012 Ignite the Flame contest. "Crashing Melodies", a young adult romance, also was selected as a finalist in the 2017 Indiana Golden Opportunity contest.
My short story "You Ain't No 5'10" appears in the Summer's Double Edge anthology.
